Indicating Whether a Case is DCFS Child Victim, Police Only Child Victim, or Other Referring Agency
The DCFS Report Uses the Case Number Field in CPS and LE to determine if the case is counted as Police ONLY Child Victims, DCFS Child Victims, or Other Referring Child Victims.
1) If a case number exists in LE and NOT CPS, this is counted as Police ONLY Child Victims.
2) If a case number exists in CPS, Then this is counted as DCFS Child Victims. Note: Even if a case number exists both in LE and CPS, the count will always default to DCFS Child Victims.
1 & 2) If no case numbers exist in CPS or LE, this is counted as Other Referring Agency Child Victim.
Note: Some CAC's may not have LE or CPS Case Numbers. If that is the case, You can use CPS ONLY, LE ONLY, or BOTH in-lieu of an actual case number.
