Editing, Creating & Adding Documents to Folders in CAC CareNet

Editing & Creating Document Folders



Step 1: After logging in to CAC CareNet, click on "Admin" then "Document Manager" on the left menu

Step 2: This will take you to the Document Manager and open to a list of all folders that have been created within CAC CareNet. First, make sure the folder you are trying to add does not already exist by scrolling through the list.
Tip: To make searching through the list faster you can press CTRL + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac) to quickly search for the folder.


Step 3: If the folder you are looking to add DOES exist, but is not showing up in the folders under the client's documents tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and choose "Edit Table".



You can now click the "visible" checkbox in the first column of check boxes and hit "Save".


Restricting Document Folder Access



If you wish to lock the list item so that you can restrict access to only specific CAC CareNet users, click on the edit button to the left of the folder name. This will provide a "Locked" checkbox at the bottom of the page. Under "Accessible By" type in the peoples name that should have access to the file. Then hit "Save" 

Remember! Only those individuals you add to the "Accessible By" field will be able to see this specific file folder.


Creating New Document Folders


If the document folder you need does not exist in the table, you'll need to add it. To do this:
Step 1: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "+Add Document" button.


Step 2: Enter in the title of the document folder, choose whether you are going to lock this folder and restrict access (If YES, click the checkbox titled "Locked" if not, you are done and can hit "Save". Additionally, if you have chosen to lock this folder, you will need to choose who is allowed to access it. Enter all individuals who should be able to access this document folder in the "Accessible By" field. After making all edits press the save button.


Adding Documents to CAC CareNet


Once you have created all of the necessary folders, you can begin uploading documents to CAC CareNet directly to the client's profile.

Step 1: Find the client you wish to upload documents for. You can use the recent/assigned clients from the dashboard or use a search.



Step 2: Click on the "Document Folders" Tab in the client's profile.



Step 3: Towards the bottom of the page, you'll see a section titled "New Document". Click the button "Choose File" to browse your computer for the file you wish to upload.



Step 4: When you return to the client document screen, you will now see the name of the file you have uploaded next to the "Choose File" button. Now, select the folder you wish to put the document in by clicking on the drop down list, enter a caption, and enter a narrative (optional). After entering in all information press the 'Upload' button!


Step 5: Once successfully updated, you will notice that the manilla folder(s) with documents in them turn green. To view the documents, simply click on the folder and you will be able to view/manage its contents on the right:


Step 6: You can view the file(s), simply click on the file name in the blue button under "Caption" You can also add a comment or delete the upload by using the buttons under the "Actions" column on the right.  If you need to edit which folder the file is in, simply click on "Modify Categories" use the drop down to select the correct folder, then hit "Save Changes".
