Updating your Password - Step by Step

Updating your Password - Step by Step

From time to time within CAC CareNet we encourage you to change your password. Updating your password on a regular interval helps keep it secure, and client data secure. To update or change a password follow the steps below:

Step 1. After logging into CAC CareNet navigate to the Personnel tab and then Dashboard.
Note: Depending on your setup you might not have the permission set to change your own password. If you receive an error contact your local administrator to update your password.
Note: If you're locked out of CareNet completely, you may have hit your incorrect password limit. If that's the case please submit a support ticket.

Step 2.  If a user has an email saved to their personnel profile you can select the 'Reset Password' button which will send out an automated reset password email with a temporary password to login with. A sample of what that email looks like is pictured in figure 2. To complete a manual reset for a personnel password select the profile button and continue to step #3.
Important: To utilize the automated password reset functionality a personnel must have an email listed in their profile. An easy way to know if a user has an email listed will be the ability to press the 'Reset Password' button. (pictured in figure 1). If that button is not clickable that means an email is missing from their profile. Simply edit their profile and add an email to use this option.
Note: If the profile you're looking for does not show up on the list, complete a search for the profile instead.

Note: If a personnel does not receive the automated email containing their password please have them check their spam folders. The automated email will come from no-reply@caccarenet.com address.

It's also important to note when copying the temporary password from the email to the CareNet login screen to not include any extra spacing. Extra spacing will invalidate the password making it not possible to use.

Step 3. Once on the selected personnel profile, press the 'Edit Account' button.

Step 4. After pressing the edit account button simply change out both password fields and press save! Then you can distribute the new password to the requesting personnel.
Note: If updating a password for someone else, they will need to refresh their browser before logging in.
