Updating and Adding Services (Encounter and Therapy)

There are two types of services within CAC CareNet.  Encounter Services are located in the Services tab, and Therapy Services are located in the Therapy Sessions tab.  From time to time, within CAC CareNet, you might need to update the services you provide to clients. Luckily, this is an easy process!  Please follow the steps below to update, add, or hide services.

Step 1. Visit the Service Manager page within CAC CareNet (Admin -> Services)

Once on the Services Manager page, there will be a table of services currently in your CAC CareNet system.  This table will have information about each service's type, description, number of times used, visibility, and mapping for VOCA and NCA Reports.  The columns can be sorted to make the list ascending or descending.  If you have more than one page of services, you can navigate to the other pages at the bottom of the table as well as see the total number of services in your CAC CareNet system.  Using the Search, Visibility, and Services features can help you quickly locate a service instead of scrolling through the list and pages.

Step 3. To make updates to the services list, click on the paper icon to the right of the service you wish to edit.  A new window will open with the details of the service, including a list of clients where the service has been used.  The client's name has a hyperlink to their Client Profile.

Step 4. From here, you can press the Edit, Close, or Delete buttons to edit the service, return to the Services table, or delete the service.   See steps below for more details about editing and deleting services.
Alert
Since CAC CareNet is permission-based for its users, the Delete button will not be visible to those who do not have permission to do so.  
Warning
If there is a service you no longer want to use, do not delete it, or it will be removed from the Client Profiles where it was used.  Instead, change the visibility.

Step 5. After pressing the Edit button, you can change the visibility by selecting Yes or No.  After making any changes, please be sure to hit the Save button.

If a Service has been used in a Client Profile and you want to change the Service Type, Name, or Description, it is best to change the visibility to No and add a new service.

Step 6. If you would like to add a brand-new service to CAC CareNet, you must first press the Add button.

Step 7. A new window (Add Service) will open to create a new service once the information is added and saved.  Choose the Service Type (Encounter or Therapy).  Add a Name and Description.  The Description is how it will be seen in your CareNet system.  Set the Visibility since the default is set to Yes.  If the newly added service needs to count towards CAC CareNet's built-in VOCA or NCA report, the service created will need to be mapped.   Use the three (3) provided dropdowns to make your selections for the VOCA report and/or use the one (1) provided dropdown to make your selection for the NCA report.  Be sure to press the Save button when done.  After saving a new service, it will then appear within your Services tab or Therapy Sessions tab.
