Creating a New Client Account - Step by Step

Creating a New Client Account - Step by Step

If a client you've served in the past is now coming in again for a brand new set of services or new case creating a new account will be a necessary step. The account system within CAC CareNet allows us to have one client profile while being able to document different occurrences of serving a client. Each account serves as a blank slate allowing new information to be added in without modifying or changing historical information.

To learn how to create a new account follow the steps below:

Step 1. Search for your client. Searching for a client can be achieved from several different areas within CAC CareNet. You can use the general search bar (A), or the full client search page (B).
Note: While searching you might see that a client name appears multiple times in the search results. This means the client most likely already has multiple accounts in your database. Simply press on one of the profile links to view their account(s) to make sure you're on the right profile.

Step 2. After you've searched and found the client you would like to add a new account to visit their profile page. Depending on how many times this client has come through your center you might see they already have multiple account from the drop down (A). Regardless, to add a new account press the 'New Account' button (B).
Note: You will get a pop-up notification asking if you're sure you want to create a new account, press the yes option.

Step 3. Once the page reloads you are now on a brand new account for that client profile. At the top of your screen you will now notice a drop down bar at the top of the client profile (if this is the second account that's been added), or a new account option in drop down (if the client already has multiple accounts).
Tip: The account numbers are in date order. So, account one is the first account created, account two is the second account created and so on.

Step 4: After creating the new account you can start adding in information as you would for a brand new client. As always make sure and fill in the AFR first thing before visiting other tabs.
