Adding a Document to the Document Folders - Step by Step
Uploading and saving a document to a client profile is an easy process. Within the document folders section you can upload a variety of documents (PDFs, Word documents, JPG's, PNG's, etc.) that are stored securely in the cloud and accessible anywhere.
Note: Any uploaded file format is browser specific. This can impede previewing of files and require it be downloaded to be viewed. Contact the browser's support for assistance to resolve any viewing issues.
To successfully upload a document:
1. Search for the profile you would like to upload a document to. Searching within CAC CareNet can be done in several locations, if you
know the name of the client utilizing the main search bar in the upper
left hand corner is easiest. Otherwise searching can be done within the
client tab.
2. After making it to the client profile click on the document folders tab. Within this tab you will have the ability to upload new documents as well as view any documents uploaded previously.
3. Once on the document folders tab there are several sections to pay attention to. (A) These are the available folders setup by the administrator where you can upload files (if you need to add a file folder, please contact your center administrator). (B) After selecting an available folder anything previously uploaded will appear here. (C) When uploading a new document to the client profile, simply choose the file from your desktop, select what folder you would like it to go into, give it a caption, and press the upload button. (Note: You may need to refresh your page after upload a document for it to appear).
Note: While the document folder can accept most documents, the max file upload is: 50 MB
Tip: Archiving uploaded documents and videos will remove them from immediate access and put them into long-term storage, freeing up storage space and possibly reducing additional storage fees. It is recommended to archive documents and videos that do not need to be accessed within the next 6 months or longer. For all documents and videos that have been archived, the retrieval process can take up to one business day (depending on the size) before the document or video can be viewed or downloaded. If the document or video needs to be retrieved within 6 months of being archived, there may be a small fee charged for retrieval.
Alert: If any uploaded documents are deleted from the system, they are permanently deleted and will need to be uploaded again by the user.
